HIS wants to be among the first to say "Hello!" and welcome you to Manhattan, Kansas! We host welcome dinners and events for new internationals at the start of each semester and give free welcome gifts to all new international students, too! HIS Friends
Get connected with a HIS Friend today! American and International HIS Friends have lots of fun together: exploring Manhattan, learning about each others cultures, cooking food together, hiking the Konza, and so much more! HIS Friends can also help you adjust to life in the USA more quickly, improve your English speaking skills, and connect you with the greater Manhattan community. Airport rides
HIS provides free airport pick-ups and transportation to Manhattan for new international students. New international students may receive a ride from the Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK), and sometimes Kansas City International Airport (MCI), as HIS volunteers are available. Advanced notice is needed in order to confirm volunteer driver availability. After you make a request, HIS staff will contact you to see how we can help. Free Furniture
HIS offers free furniture year-round to new international students and their family members. Availability is limited and dependent upon community donations. Items vary from bed frames and mattresses to desks, dressers, couches, and more. Click here to learn more and request furniture.
